Lead with the job-to-be-done
First screen: who it is for, what command to run, and what “done” looks like. Hide the architecture essay below the fold.
Include a 30-second path: install → run this command → expected artifact. Reviewers copy that path when they rate you.
Trust signals that are not fake badges
Show last update, supported Claude Code versions, license, and a security stance (what you never request).
Link a changelog. Silence after a breaking Claude release reads as abandonment — even if the skill still “works” by accident.
Keywords without cringe
People search for phrases like “Claude SEO skill,” “Claude Code plugin,” and “rate Claude plugins.” Use those phrases where they are honest — titles, H2s, and examples — not stuffed into every sentence.
If you compete in SEO skills, say what you cover (GEO, schema, technical) and what you do not. Honest scope converts better than inflated badges.
Measure listing health over time
Track description clarity, freshness, and peer listings the same way app publishers watch store pages. AuditHQ Claude plugin audits exist so that measurement is scheduled instead of manual every quarter.
